đïž Friday, July 11, 2025 â đż Municipality of Labarde (33)
As part of the Biodiversity and Territories Encounters (RBT), organized by the French Office for Biodiversity, a friendly and informative day took place in Labarde (33), within the MĂ©doc Regional Nature Park. Selected to lead the dayâs activities, the LIFE Wild Bees project offered a series of workshops focused on raising awareness about the protection of wild bees.
The event was hosted in a buzzing garden in the municipality of Labarde, specially developed as part of the LIFE project. For the occasion, the Médoc, Périgord-Limousin, and Landes de Gascogne Regional Nature Parks, alongside OPIE and CPIE Pays Creusois, came together to offer a full day of demonstrations featuring educational tools for local actors. A bus was chartered from the Bordeaux Convention Centre to make it easy for participants to access the site. The event brought together around fifteen biodiversity stakeholders from across France.
A morning to set the scene
The day began under the sign of connection and sharing. After a welcome coffee, the morning continued with several opening talks, including an introduction to Labardeâs buzzing garden by the Mayor, insights into the environmental challenges of the MĂ©doc region, and a presentation of the LIFE Wild Bees project.
Workshops to equip and inspire action
Participants then took part in two interactive workshops encouraging exchange and hands-on experimentation:
đč SPIPOLL: a fun and accessible workshop to learn and apply a simple pollinator observation protocol, led by Emmeline of OPIE.
đč Buzzing Gardens: a feedback session on the creation of pollinator-friendly spaces, run by the MĂ©doc and Landes de Gascogne Regional Nature Parks. The workshop emphasized citizen mobilization and the involvement of local elected officials.
Afternoon: hands-on tools and inspiration
The afternoon was devoted to discovering educational tools. Stands, games, models, facilitation materials, and documentation â facilitators from the MĂ©doc, Landes de Gascogne, and PĂ©rigord-Limousin Parks, along with CPIE Pays Creusois, presented a wide variety of practical and portable resources. This session gave participants the opportunity to explore concrete, adaptable tools to implement in their own territories.
A day of friendliness and commitment
Marked by warmth and rich exchanges between stakeholders, this day strengthened the collective desire to act. Everyone left with new contacts and resources to take meaningful action in support of pollinators.
